Dr. Ruiz is an adult psychiatrist who moved to Orlando, Florida, after establishing a practice in Manatí, Puerto Rico. He began working in the Kissimmee and Lake Nona areas before the practice was formed.

The first step is a psychiatric evaluation to detail all the developmental, medical, family and social history of the individual seeking treatment.

Medication management

The practice determines and prescribes the proper dose and frequency of medications, monitors progress and adjusts medications as needed.

Cognitive therapy

Patients learn self-help skills and techniques that they can practice at home to gain control and prevent relapses.

Evaluations for litigation

Evaluations may be used as evidence in competency issues such as Worker’s Compensation cases, and assessment for Social Security Disability claims.

Referrals

If needed, the practice refers patients to other doctors or services, who work along with the psychiatrist as part of the treatment plan.

Gustavo V. Ruiz, M.D.

Dr. Ruiz completed training in Puerto Rico and established a practice in Manatí, Puerto Rico, for over 15 years. He also worked in mental health institutes, primary care centers, clinics, and public and private hospitals. He then moved to Orlando, Florida.
